-- How the packaging works --
• You select the number of soldiers you would like to adopt, keeping in mind the commitment it requires

• If you select one soldier then you select one item that you would like to purchase, and buy enough for the total number of soldiers in your unit (no more than 10)

• The group gets together every three to four weeks to package. At that time you will bring your item along with anything else you would like to add to personalize your package

• We encourage everyone to write a letter to your soldier. Include photos if you would like.

• Boxes, packing tape and labels are provided at the time of packing, as are the customs paperwork that is necessary for shipping.

• Everyone is responsible for taking his or her package to the post office and paying for the postage. You simply need to let your unit leader know the total weight. This should change as we are working on getting the postage covered through fundraisers and donations.

• Before the packaging, the group has a few snacks/treats and discusses current issues, ideas for future boxes and brainstorm toward making Operation Minnesota Nice even more effective.

• Everyone with e-mail capability will be sent updates regarding our soldiers and the packaging between our shipping dates.

• We welcome new members that are interested in adopting a soldier!! Just let Denise know and she will make sure they get a start up packet.
